Our same day lab testing and in-house imaging center makes it easy for patients to receive services such as radiographs, ultrasounds, and much more. By doing this, we provide patients a more cost-effective, convenient and all around efficacious visit.
When You Would Need An Imaging Center
Imaging services allow our leading physician, Dr. Peyton Berookim to provide quick and accurate answers to any health issues that patients may be experiencing. Our in-house team is compiled of experienced and professional radiology technicians who work tirelessly to make sure all patient’s needs are taken care of.
Ultrasounds
This is one of the major imaging services usually needed by patients. Ultrasounds of the abdominal region allow our physician to be able to evaluate vital organs such as the kidneys, spleen, gallbladder, or liver for abnormalities. This imaging service is used for a variety of cases such as:
- Detecting abnormal liver enzymes and/or fatty liver.
- Checking for gallstones or kidney stones.
- Checking symptoms for abdominal pain that are not visible to the naked eye.
- Examining an enlarged spleen or liver.
- Determining if there is fluid in the abdomen.
- Evaluating female organs such as the ovaries and uterus.
- Evaluating heart or blood vessels of the neck or lower extremities.
X-Rays
X-rays provide quick and detailed images of the internal structure of your body to reveal signs of injury or disease, with minimal radiation. Our office uses x-ray technology to examine the chest, abdomen, and all extremities. Our radiograph service is used to determine possible issues such as:
- Evaluating the digestive tract for problems such as constipation.
- Determining if there is an obstruction in the digestive tract.
- Determining the cause of a cough or shortness of breath by looking for evidence of bronchitis, pneumonia, or other lung abnormalities.
- Evaluating for bone or rib fractures.
Same Day Lab Testing
Our office also offers in-house laboratory services to provide patients with fast results. We offer same day lab testing to provide a diagnosis and expedite the treatment plan. Our team can calculate certain tests such as a complete blood count in as little as five minutes. Blood draws are performed by our highly-skilled and qualified nurses and our laboratory is run by highly-skilled and dedicated technicians. We provide a full array of laboratory services to minimize patient cost and provide a comfortable environment for patients to find solutions for ongoing health concerns.
ECG– Electrocardiogram
An electrocardiogram, or ECG, measures the electrical activity of the heart to detect any heart problems such as abnormal rhythm or damage. Our clinic recommends that individuals older than 45 years-old have an ECG before undergoing procedures such as an endoscopy or colonoscopy. This is to ensure that there are no heart defects or abnormalities that can cause potential harm to the patient during the procedures.
Dexa Scan
A Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry Scan (DEXA) will require you to lie on your back while a particular area of your body is scanned with an x-ray. This is a painless, quick, and accurate procedure that only takes 5 minutes. It was made to analyze body fat composition and bone density. This procedure is performed by one of our highly trained technicians.
