What Is The PillCam COLON 2 Procedure Like?
The PillCam Colon 2 capsule, which is the size of a vitamin tablet, is swallowed by the patient and travels through the gastrointestinal tract. The images from the PillCam™ are transmitted to a recorder that is strapped around the patient’s shoulders and must be worn at all times. In order to take the PillCam™, the colon must be completely empty and laxatives may be necessary before the procedure.
